An EP tracking the evolution of simple musical organisms.

I wanted to explore the similarities between games and music, interactions and harmonies. Using the Protean Map cards from the artefact edition of Proteus by Ed Key and David Kanaga, I picked 5 cards which prompted the track names of the EP and the ideas behind the songs. I then used the Nintendo DS game Electroplankton, by Toshio Iwai, to perform the music for these titles.

Everything was improvised and completed rapidly from the concept to the final product... spontaneous and changing like the plankton of the game. Although the songs were put together externally, no music was produced outside of what was recorded from the game.
